Perfecting The Couples Pose - by Photography by Kristina

It is interesting how some couples can naturally fall into the “couple” pose for a photograph. As soon as they see a camera somehow without any word from the photographer, or each other for that matter, they end up in this pose that always makes for a good image. And then there are those couples that, well, need a lot more help to achieve this. If you ask them to pose for a photo, it ends up looking like one or the other would rather be anywhere else. Why is this so? A simple reason may be that some couples are more comfortable openly displaying their love for one another, while others may be more reserved.

So what makes for a good “couple” pose? Here are a few tips:

1. Get in close - like it’s a cold day and you just need to snuggle to get warm. Keep your hands on each other. Never break your contact with one another.

3. Tilt your heads toward each other rather than away. Remember that cheek to cheek, temple to temple, nose to nose, or cheek to temple will give a more natural, caring feel to your portrait.

So couples have some fun putting these tips into practice. Then the next time someone wants to take a photo of the two of you together, you’ll just step into place naturally, no words needed.
